Samsung announced its latest line of flagship smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event held during the CES 2021. The company¡¯s biggest launch event for the year introduced its top-of-the-line Galaxy S21 Ultra, more or less setting the benchmark for the capabilities of Android devices available in the market.
The new Galaxy S21 Ultra builds on a decade-long legacy of Samsung flagship devices that promise to deliver the ¡°best-of-the-best¡± to the consumer. Coupled to that is the fact that the smartphone comes as one of the first major launches of the smartphone industry this year.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra was hence bound to introduce several firsts to the market from the house of Samsung. With the technology ranging from that of performance to cameras and more, here are all the unique features that the Galaxy S21 Ultra boasts of.
The flagship Galaxy Note offerings by Samsung have long held a charm of being a complete pocket device, much thanks to the S Pen support on the Note series. Now for the first time ever, the company has brought a similar support to its Galaxy S series with the S21 Ultra.
Arguably the fan favourite technology on Samsung flagships, the S Pen enables users to draw with a free-hand, take notes, edit photos, sign documents and do much more on their smartphones. The Galaxy S21 Ultra will now empower all these functionalities with S Pen support. The S Pen will, however, be sold separately to the device. Users who already have the S Pen from an old device can use that too on their Galaxy S21 Ultra.
According to?Samsung, the 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display on the S21 Ultra is its most intelligent one yet. This is because the display is able to adjust the refresh rate from 10Hz to 120Hz as per the content to ensure a smooth viewing experience.
Coupled to that is a Quad HD+ display and a peak brightness of 1,500nits, making it 25% brighter than the display on the Galaxy S21. The self adjusting refresh rate also ensures that the display is power efficient for an extended battery life.
Samsung calls the camera system on the Galaxy S21 Ultra as its ¡°most advanced pro-grade camera¡± to date. It comes with a quad lens setup at the back that includes an ultra-wide, wide and dual tele-lenses.
The setup in itself claims to carry several firsts for any Samsung device. The Dual-tele lens system, for instance, is Samsung¡¯s first ever and promises a 100x Space Zoom combined, delivering a perfect shot even from a distance.
Another first is the capability to shoot 4K videos at 60fps across all lenses including front and rear. With this, Galaxy S21 Ultra users can shift to a different perspective while shooting a 4k video.
Samsung also says that improvements on the Bright Night sensor on the Galaxy S21 Ultra is the company¡¯s biggest leap yet in low-light photography.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra comes equipped with Samsung¡¯s most powerful chipset ever. Called the Exynos 2100, the processor was launched just two days prior to the debut of the Galaxy S21 series and promised significant improvements over its predecessor.
The chip, for instance, promises a 2X faster AI processing, 20% faster CPU performance and 35% faster GPU processing speed, all backed by RAM of up to 16GB.
More than just a smartphone, the Galaxy S21 Ultra promises to be a lifestyle statement with its connectivity features. The device comes equipped with Ultra-wideband capabilities (UWB) that will allow you to automatically unlock compatible car doors without the need of keys.
Connecting it with SmartThings on Android Auto, one can also use the Galaxy S21 series to control smart devices in their home, right from the car. Users can turn on their porch lights or even raise the temperature of your thermostat before returning home, all from their car.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra will be available for purchase at a price of Rs 1,05,999 for the 12GB RAM, 256GB storage variant. The option with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage will cost Rs 1,16,999.
Samsung says that the pre-orders for the device have begun starting today. Deliveries for these pre-orders will start from January 25, while the smartphone will go on sale on January 29.
