?If your life depends on finding the right song on Spotify, you would know the value and appeal of seeing what your friends are listening to.
Currently, Spotify's limited social features show your friends' listening activity only on desktops. On your iPhone or Android smartphone, you can only see a user's recently played artists and songs - that too if they've made it publicly available.
Now, it appears that Spotify is ready to embrace the social-like potential of the music streaming app with its upcoming "Community." The upcoming feature would let users see what their friends are listening to and what playlists they've recently updated even on mobile devices.
In fact, it is a highly sought feature. A user request on its community forums had received over 7,000 votes. But to no avail, for the company refused to expand "friend activity" to smartphones. Now, we may be getting something even better.

The feature isn't available yet. But as TechCrunch reported, it may be accessed by Spotify users on an iOS device by typing in "spotify:community" in the Safari browser.
The feature was first spotted by Chris Messina who unveiled its primary details on Twitter in a thread. Once available, the top row of Community on Spotify will show recently updated playlists. Then you'll see a vertical list of friends and what they've been jamming to recently.
