Spotify has released its highly anticipated Wrapped 2024 annual music report, which reveals how over 640 million people streamed music and podcasts during the year. To commemorate Wrapped's tenth anniversary, the individualized report for each Spotify subscriber is now available via the Android and iOS apps.
Arijit Singh becomes the most streamed artist again this year?
Spotify's Wrapped 2024 study also examines music listening patterns in India. Arijit Singh remains the most-streamed artist from last year, followed by Pritam, A R Rahman, Shreya Ghoshal, and Anirudh Ravichander.?
Similarly, Vishal Mishra and Raj Shekhar's Pehle Bhi Main from Animal was the year's most-streamed song. On number 2 we have Husn, by Anuv Jain, subsequently, third was Satranga (From ANIMAL) by Arijit Singh, Shreyas Puranik, and Siddharth Garima, fourth was Sajni (From Laapataa Ladies) by Ram Sampath, Arijit Singh, and Prashant Pandey and making it to top 5 was Akhiyaan Gulaab (From Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya) by Mitraz.
The Ranveer Show tops the charts in podcasts?
Aside from music streaming, Spotify is well-known for its extensive podcast library, with The Ranveer Show taking the lead, followed by The Joe Rogan Experience.?
Listeners preferred horror, true crime, and self-help podcasts.
Animal was the most-streamed music album of the year
Animal by Various Artists became India's most-streamed album after spending 49 weeks at number one on Spotify. Kabir Singh by Sachet-Parampara won second place, followed by Aashiqui 2 by Mithoon, Making Memories by Karan Aujla and lastly making it to the top 5 was Rocky and Rani Kii Prem Kahaani by Pritam.?
Women-led podcasts also topped the charts?
Women-led podcasts had a significant influence in 2024, with five of the top ten new podcasts launched on Spotify in India. These include: Madly In Kaadhal, Call Me Hopeful, Realign Podcast with Humans of Bombay, Konjam Think Panalama?, and Dinner Party.
