You may not think about your footwear beyond whether it looks nice and is durable. Heck, you might not even care that much and just buys the cheapest decent pair. But if you really care about shoes, they're about to get a whole lot more interactive.

Nike has just announced its latest shoe, the Adapt Huarache shoe. It's the shoe of the future, featuring the company's proprietary "FitAdapt" technology. Basically, it lets you adjust the fit of your shoe on the fly, without ever touching your laces.?
With a feature right out of the movie 'Back to the Future' all you have to do is tap a button on your iPhone or Apple Watch, or even give Siri a voice command, and the shoe sucks in to fit your foot.
The shoes are made to accommodate a variety of foot sizes and shapes, as well as to tailor to your fit preference. The Adapt Huarache also features LED lights from earlier versions of the shoe, as well as the FitAdapt lacing system that lets you tighten or loosen the shoe with a remote control.?
Aside from manual controls, the shoes also offer preset modes for people that want to try different fits. Support for Siri Shortcuts also gives you a variety of controls, meaning you could even get home and tell your Home Pod to untie your shoes. Just say "Hey Siri, release my shoes." Frankly, it's a meme that writes itself.
The shoes have "midfoot motors" that change the fit, controlled by the Nike Adapt app. The app also suggests a fit based on the activity you're engaging in. But aside from athletes, this shoe would also be great for people with motor disabilities, as it provides that added level of convenience.
The first lot of these shoes will be released on September 13. And when they do, you can expect them to be really expensive. The previous version with the LEDs, the Adapt BB was priced at $350 price tag initially, so the Nike Adapt Huarache price tag could be much more.
