What if we told you that humanity is closer to AI-based upscaling technology that can upgrade old blurry videos? Yep, Tech pioneers Nvidia have built exactly that.
Announced this week at CES 2023, the RTX Video Super Resolution is designed to upscale videos watched through Chrome or Edge browers on a PC to make them appear like they were filmed in 4K.
But for this feature to truly work, users would require a newer Nvidia GPU - to be exact, its recently released 30 and 40-series GPUs will receive support for the same when it releases next month.

In a video demonstration of footage from Apex Legends, the tech essentially managed sharpen edges while reducing video artifacts. While Nvidia's demo shows RTX Video Super Resolution working its magic on a YouTube video, Nvidia claims that it works on "any video watched in a browser."
It appears that this tech supports any video that has a resolution of between 360p and 1440p, up to a frame rate of 144Hz, PCGamer reported.
Earlier, the AI-based upscaling technology was available on its dedicated Shield TV streaming devices, but now it'll be available to all on a browser on compatible devices.
