Love it or hate it, TikTok exists. And so does most of its content -- some find TikTok cringy, some love it and others try to live with it with the life motto ¡®ignorance is bliss.¡¯
TikTok was going through a tough ordeal for a few weeks now. Mostly after TikTok and YouTube feud, that led to the infamous video made by Carry Minati (a YouTuber), which was taken down by the YouTube community for being disrespectful.
This only fueled a fire in the hearts of the haters and supporters of CarryMinati, who eventually decided to bombard the Google Play Store with negative reviews of the app to bring the rating down from a decent 4.5 to an abysmal 1.2, to seek ¡®revenge¡¯ and sharing about it on social media claiming ¡®roast ahi fry karenge¡¯.?
Even people who hadn¡¯t seen the video but hated the app for spreading hate and violent content chimed along.
While this surely would have seemed fun to them at the time, it didn¡¯t last as long as Google started clearing baseless reviews and slowly and steadily the rating for the app kept coming up.?And today, Google has cleared over 80 lakh negative reviews to bring the rating back up to a decent 4.4 stars.?
TikTok hasn¡¯t had a smooth sailing ride in India since the time it was launched, with Madras High Court temporarily banning it, but coming back online after the ban was lifted in a few weeks.?
And even after the review conundrum sorted, its problems are far from over, as it has a new competing app made by an Indian for the Indians called Mitron.?
The app is actually developed by IIT-Rourkee alumnus Shivank Agarwal and his team. The Mitron app has managed to cross over 50 lakh downloads in a very short amount of time.?
Have you tried Mitron? How has your experience been like? Tell us in the comments below.?
