Twitter's embracing long-form, just not how you thought it would. If you were hoping for more characters, that's not looking possible. Earlier, Twitter had increased the character count from 140 to 280 characters.
Now, it is testing a new way to expand into long-form content. The new feature is called "Twitter Notes" and will allow users to create articles through rich formatting and uploaded media. Later, this may be Tweeted and shared normally with users after it has been published.
According to Tech Crunch, the feature is currently being tested among select users before a public launch. This feature could be a game changer for Twitter, where most users have trouble sharing long-form content. Most people type long content on their phone's notes apps and then share the screenshots on their Twitter accounts.
