WhatsApp is currently working on a feature that would let users share their audio while displaying their screen during video calls. Essentially, users would be able to listen to music and video together when screen sharing is enabled via video calls.
Useful, right? The ability was spotted by WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo for iPhones. If you've always wondered how to share audio playing on your phone with your loved ones, with video sharing, it could become possible on WhatsApp in the near-future.
The feature was spotted in the WhatsApp beta for iOS version 23.25.10.72, available on the TestFlight app. Earlier this year, WhatsApp rolled out the ability to share screen during video calls, bringing the service closer to Google Meet and Zoom. With this slated function, users would be able to share video and audio in real-time during presentations, etc.

The feature's functionality is not completely clear yet, as it is yet to be rolled out to users on the beta testing channel and is still in development, according to WABetaInfo.
The publication shared a preview of the share music audio feature that appears to have been sourced by enabling hidden features that are still being worked on. According to WABetaInfo, the feature will not work with WhatsApp voice calls, and will also be unavailable on video calls where the video is disabled.

Screen sharing support was added to WhatsApp in August. By tapping the share icon, users can share their screens during video calls. To make viewing easier, WhatsApp has also started supporting landscape mode in video calls.
