Elon Musk has stated that the X TV app for Smart TVs is now available in beta form for a few devices. Musk confirmed the development by responding to a post on X by a user named DogeDesigner. The platform's website also notes that the X TV app is now available on Android TVs, but there is no mention of the Apple TV at this time.
It also mentions that customers with TVs from LG, Amazon Fire TV, and Google TV (formerly Android TV) can test out the microblogging platform software on their large screens.?
It also adds that more integrations are coming shortly, which most likely refers to Apple TV and other platforms such as Roku, among others. The app is now only available in the United States, but a wider rollout is scheduled in the coming months.
Linda Yaccarino, CEO of the company, revealed the X TV app for the first time in April of this year. She teased that the dedicated TV will feature videos that would stream in high definition. The demo of the app's interface revealed that X may have a UI comparable to YouTube, making it easier for users to use.
Users may expect trending video algorithms, AI-powered themes, cross-device experience, improved video search, easy casting, and widespread availability (coming soon to most smart TVs). "We'll keep you updated," she said back then.
X is undoubtedly redefining the paradigm of a social media app, and Musk is clearly intent on making it an all-encompassing platform. Having a smart TV app expands its reach and attracts new clients to the platform.?
The video streaming service will undoubtedly appeal to many people, but it is unclear how Musk and his team intend to supply the platform with content and where it will come from.
X fans were ecstatic back when this news was teased. Here's what people said.?
