WhatsApp started from being a boon to convenience to now being completely indispensable.?
And with everyone you know being on the texting platform, now it has started to get a little annoying -- especially with all those family WhatsApp groups that have all uncles and aunties sharing good morning/good night messages or bhajan-kirtans whenever they feel like.
This surely becomes more annoying when you¡¯re trying to get work done and the phone keeps pinging one after another because two cousins decided to have a conversation in a group chat that could otherwise be conducted on their personal DMs.?
In such instances, you have the option to mute the chat for a few hours, days or even a whole year (because deleting out of the group is clearly not an option). However, now, WhatsApp¡¯s recent beta shows that it will bring the ability to mute chats forever.?
This is according to popular WhatsApp beta tipster WABetaInfo. The version of this feature is baked into is the 2.20.201.10 beta on Android. As per the tipster, the feature won¡¯t be visible as soon as you update the app, and it can take a few days for it to reflect.
Another feature that this update is bringing is a new storage UI. Basically, it tells you how much storage is your WhatsApp data-consuming overall. It also is bringing a feature that will show you what WhatsApp data is eating up most of your storage and ways to clear it and empty your memory for apps. This can come in really handy for people whose parents keep complaining that they¡¯re running out of storage space, where we all know what the actual culprit is.?
WhatsApp is also bringing Media Guidelines which basically offers you a grid of sorts to align stickers or other images properly. The new update has also eliminated the call icons from business accounts.?
We don¡¯t exactly know when these features will be rolled out to all the users, or if all the features would even make it to the final update.?
