In a press release, WhatsApp announced the feature's rollout, saying that users can now link their phone as one of up to four devices, similar to how users can link with WhatsApp across web browsers, tablets, and desktops.
WhatsApp claims that each linked phone connects to WhatsApp independently, making sure that each user's personal messages, media, and calls are end-to-end encrypted. According to the WhatsApp press release, if a user's primary device remains inactive for a long time, it is automatically log the user out of the companion devices.
Companion devices can make messaging easier. Users can now pick up chats where they left off without signing out of different smartphones. For WhatsApp Business accounts, business owners are able to respond to customers directly from their phones.?
