Xiaomi India is prepping to start the year 2021 on a high note, as the company has confirmed the launch of a smartphone in the first week of the year. Scheduled for January 5, 2021, the new smartphone is being anticipated to have a 108-megapixel primary camera as a highlight.
Not many details about the smartphone have been released by the company yet. It did, however, put out a teaser video showing a quad-lens camera setup at the back of the smartphone, while using the hashtag 'perfect 10¡¯.?
Another, rather smart teaser shown in the video is the numeric 8, that shines with a bright flash, next to the already existing 10. At that particular moment, one can guess that the smartphone will have an 108 megapixel primary lens embedded in its camera module.
When the 8 is not present, the figure transforms to an ¡®i¡¯, providing yet another hint at the name of the smartphone. With this, the moniker on the teaser posters, as well as the prior information about the upcoming smartphone, it is anticipated that Xiaomi will launch the Mi 10i in India on January 5.
The smartphone will form a part of the Mi 10 family, extending the list of existing offerings that includes Mi 10, Mi 10T, and Mi 10T Pro. The device was even spotted on Google Play Console listing earlier this month. The device is being believed to be a rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G which was unveiled in China last month.
If true, the specifications of the upcoming Mi 10i can easily be guessed at. The device will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC, carrying a 6GB RAM and options of 128GB and 256GB internal storage.
It will sport a 6.67-inch full-HD (2,400x1,080 pixels) display with a 120Hz refresh rate. As for the camera capabilities, it will have a 108-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, all embedded in a camera setup at the back.
At the front, it will house a 16-megapixel camera within a punch-hole cutout at the centre. The device will be backed by a 4,820mAh battery and will support 33W fast charging alongwith 5G capabilities.
