Reported first by Huffington Post, Myka Stauffer posts vlogging videos with her husband James and four other children, enjoys a subscriber base of over 7 lakh subscribers. She recently shared this new development in a video she posted on Tuesday titled ¡®Update on our family.¡¯
In this video, he talks about why they¡¯ve decided to ¡®rehome¡¯ their now four year old child Huxley, due to unspecified behavioural issues.
James said that they were not fully prepared to adhere to the special needs of the child, stating, ¡°Once Huxley came home, there was a lot more special needs that we weren¡¯t aware of, and that we were not told.¡±
He added, ¡°For us, it¡¯s been really hard hearing from the medical professionals, a lot of their feedback, and things that have been upsetting. We¡¯ve never wanted to be in this position. And we¡¯ve been trying to get his needs met and help him out as much as possible... we truly love him.¡±
In the two years Huxley has been a part of their lives, he¡¯s made multiple appearances on videos where she¡¯s spoken about the adoption process, Q&A sessions etc. In a video, she even crowdfunds and asks YouTube to raise money for the child. Some of the videos invoicing Huxley were even sponsored by a detergent brand for newborns. The videos are still monetised.
The report also highlights the fact that the vlogger has been very open about the challenges she has faced in raising Huxley. In an Instagram story, she¡¯s even told the child who clearly looks uncomfortable to be having a ¡®meltdown¡¯.?
Twitter was not happy with Myka deciding to give away her son to a new home and a ¡®new mommy¡¯.
