Listen up, fellow Earthlings. Your alien-flavoured speculations may now be supported by a well-revered Harvard professor who claims that aliens created the Milky Way galaxy and all life, including humans in it.
Abraham (Avi) Loeb once headed Harvard University's astronomy department. Now, he's a best-selling author and famous for his out-of-this-world takes on alien life including the theory that the space rock Oumuamua may actually be an alien spacecraft.
In his new op-ed for Scientific American, Loeb explained why he believes the Milky Way and the surrounding universe might as well be a lab experiment of an "advanced technological civilization". Tantalising? Mmm, but it's best to take these claims with a pinch of salt.
In the piece, Loeb suggests how aliens could have created a "baby universe" by using "quantum tunneling". He explained how this may be true owing to our universe's "flat geometry" with zero net energy.

Imagine unifying religion and science? Loeb believes our (alleged) alien creators solve the long-drawn war. "This possible origin story unifies the religious notion of a creator with the secular notion of quantum gravity", he added.
Humans do not know how combine quantum mechanics and gravity. To Loeb, it appears that our creator civilisation has already mastered the technology.
Mind you, human beings are a C-level civilisation on the space scale. A B-level civilisation, Loeb explained, is capable of recreating conditions for its species to survive, regardless of the species' origin star.
An A-level civilisation goes even a step ahead, with the ability to "recreate cosmic conditions" that facilitated the growth of the civilisation. Such kind of aliens would be the ones capable of producing a "baby universe" which could harbour meek helpless creatures like us.

While this may be an interesting take, there is no evidence that humans were created by humans. In fact, evolutionary evidence suggests humans simply came to being owing to the life-harbouring conditions on Earth.
Regardless, what do you think about a super-smart and capable species of technologically superior aliens building the Milky Way and all that's in it? Share your thoughts with us below.
