The James Webb Space Telescope hype just won't let up, and well-deservedly so! The world's most powerful telescope recently shared the most clear and deepest infrared images of distant universe, dating back to 4.6 billion light years ago.?
In case you missed the images, you can see them here in full detail.
Now, it appears that two pictures of Jupiter have been leaked by the James Webb telescope team, SkyNews reported.?
The two images of the gas giant were clicked by James Webb and released by NASA in a commissioning document to show how James Webb's NIRCam (Near Infrared Camera) is able to track moving targets.
Mind you, these pictures are not full-resolution formal images but instead were used to show James Webb's versatility. One of the images shows Jupiter in short-wavelength (left) and the other shows the gas giant in long-wavelength (right). This is essentially proof of how JWST can spot different atmospheric conditions.

Both the images of Jupiter were clicked with a 75-second exposure. In this images, one can also note Jupiter's moons Europa, Thebe, and Metis. According to NASA, Europa's shadow is visible towards the left of the Great Red Spot.
The James Webb Space Telescope hopes to assess potentially habitable distant worlds while also clicking stellar images of the early universe, possibly unlocking the mysteries of this world.
