In any pet parent's nightmare (almost) come true, a crocodile was seen stalking someone's pet dog, who was unaware and enjoying its stroll in the sand. A few yards away, a crocodile tailed the dog, moving back and forth in the shallow water, almost coming close to the water's edge at one point before falling back. Luckily for all involved, a stranger intervened and changed the outcome of what could have been an unfortunate incident. Here's what went on.

According to Yahoo News Australia,Jerry Ahmat was using his drone to capture footage of the beach, when he noticed a sizable crocodile observing an oblivious pet dog lounging on the sand.?
"My partner and I tried to chase [the dog] away from the water," he shared. Luckily, the dog listened and escaped unharmed but it's what Ahmat revealed next that was really worrisome.

Ahmat was flying his drone at Seisia Wharf in Cape York, located in North Queensland, Australia, when he noticed what was going on. He shared that while the footage itself was "rare," incidents like these often take place there.
"Usually people use leashes, but my dogs know not to go near the water," he said.
Meanwhile, the Queensland Government has advised people to keep their pets at least five metres away from the edge of the water in what has been dubbed "Croc Country," a common place for such hunts.
