The wait is finally over for fans of the Spanish film My Fault (Culpa Mia) as the sequel, Your Fault (Culpa Tuya), has premiered on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, December 27. Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara are back to reprise their roles, bringing their characters to life once again in this highly anticipated follow-up.
What made My Fault a global success was the undeniable chemistry between Noah (Nicole) and Nick (Gabriel), the step-siblings who are head over heels for each other but keep their feelings suppressed for their parents' relationship until they can't anymore. But what truly set their fandom ablaze was the genuine off-screen connection between the lead actors. Fans cannot wait to watch Nicole and Gabriel's sizzling chemistry in Your Fault, but rumours of off-screen tension between the duo have sparked a new controversy.?
Nicole and Gabriel, who have been long-time co-stars, were inseparable while promoting their 2023 film?My Fault; however, during the promotional activities of Your Fault earlier this month, Nicole was seen distancing herself from Gabriel. From refusing to get photographed with Gabriel to not acknowledging his presence, Nicole didn't keep it subtle.?
Author Mercedes Ron, whose Wattpad story, Culpables Saga or Our Fault, inspired the three-part film series, was also present with the duo when Nicole Wallace walked away from the stage to avoid Gabriel Guevara. In other videos that went viral online, the 22-year-old was seen refusing to make eye contact with her co-star, despite him looking at her with profound adoration and admiration, amid rumours of a rift between them.
During the promotion of the film earlier this month, Nicole was seen cheerfully interacting with her fans. Dressed in a gorgeous red dress, the actor made every head turn with her charming presence. However, in almost every frame, she was seen avoiding Gabriel, concerning the duo's fandom, which has been shipping them in real life.?
When asked if she's still friends with Gabriel after noticing her cold silence towards her co-star, Nicole told a reporter, "I can say that we have a very long working relationship, I have known him since I was 16, so very small, so year, we have a great working relationship."
Gabriel, meanwhile, had a different story to tell, when asked the same question. He said, "Yes, of course. We're working now, but in out of the sense, we're friends."
The internet has many theories about Nicole and Gabriel's alleged fallout. One theory suggests that the on-screen pair's romance translated into real life and they had a sour breakup. A section of the internet believes that Nicole has been giving Gabriel the cold shoulder due to his silence on abuse allegations against director Eduard Cort¨¦s, who has also directed the duo in TV miniseries Raising Voices.?
Meanwhile, some fans also believe the real reason behind Nicole and Gabriel's rift is the latter's bad behaviour towards her. Earlier, fans had noticed that Gabriel would like posts demeaning Nicole on social media. A post on Reddit also suggested that Gabriel body-shamed Nicole on the sets of the film, commenting on her weight and allegedly insulting her by saying she wasn't attractive enough to carry out intimate scenes. Some netizens also commented that Gabriel's girlfriend did not approve of his off-screen closeness with Nicole, which led to tension between them.?
That being said, these are just fan theories and have not been confirmed by Nicole and Gabriel; however, their recent off-screen interaction has given fans a lot to discuss.?
Your Fault is now streaming on Prime Video. Other than Nicole and Gabriel, the ensemble cast also features Marta Hazas, Gabriela Andrada as Sofia, Alex Bejar as Bria, Javier Morgade as Michael, Fran Morcillo as Simon, and Felipe Londono as Luca. The film has been produced by Alex de la Iglesia and Carolina Bang under Pokeepsie Films. Details related to the third part have yet to be announced.?
