Earlier this year, Whatsapp¡¯s rival ¡®Kimbho app¡¯ was taken down from Play Store due to a plethora of issues. On December 25, Baba Ramdev made plans to re-launch the Swadeshi messaging app.
But Patanjali seems to have slashed its plans of relaunching the app after two unsuccessful attempts - May and August of 2018.
"We wanted to launch a technically sound application which could promise watertight security and privacy. However, we are not satisfied with the work done. We have put the idea on the backburner as we don't want to launch half-baked products," CEO and managing director of Patanjali Ayurveda, Acharya Bal Krishna, said.
Krishna said that the project had been put aside and that the company didn¡¯t have any dates in mind to relaunch it any time soon.
The app was first launched on May 30, however, it was taken down from the Google Play Store within 24 hours of its launching because of poor security features. Again it was launched on August 27, however, it again failed because the company couldn¡¯t fix the issues of the app.
