In a bid to protect the environment, activists accompanied by police officials destroyed cannabis plants in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu yesterday. This was done as an oath to conserve the environment.?
The incident took place in Nirmand area of Kullu, and activists from different organisations participated in it, reported ANI. They also planted saplings in an effort to make the environment greener.

A local activist told the news agency,?"We have destroyed cannabis plants with the help of police and we all have taken an oath to take care of the saplings that we planted today."?
The report further suggests that locals appreciated the move and thanked the police as well as the activists for carrying out this drive. However, a state where cannabis has been growing for years and is a source of trade for many, the motive behind this move is still foggy. Cannabis plants are natural part of the environment there.
