Plastic products have wreaked havoc on the environment and in a bid to curb the menace,?Nestl¨¦ India has launched a ¡®MAGGI Wrappers return¡¯ scheme under which consumers can grab a free Maggi packet.
According to reports, consumers can exchange 10 empty packs of Maggi noodles for one fresh packet at retail shops.? The Economic Times says that the project is in its pilot phase in Dehradun and Mussoorie.?
A Nestle India spokesperson said the move is among one of the company¡¯s several plastic waste management initiatives. Currently, Nestle is working with nearly 250 retailers to follow this through.
The spokesperson further added, ¡°We are hopeful that this will bring about a behaviour change in consumers and help create awareness for responsibly disposing of plastic waste and prevent littering.¡±

The report also says that there was severe plastic pollution caused by Maggi packets in Mussoorie. The collection of empty packets and responsible disposal will be done by the Indian Pollution Association.
