It's been too hot for the fifth consecutive day as there is no respite from the blistering heat conditions in Rajasthan.
Churu in Rajasthan, meanwhile, recorded the highest temperature in the country today at 50.8 degree Celsius. Other cities in Rajasthan were also in the running with Ganganagar recording a maximum temperature of 49 degrees Celsius, and Bikaner recording 47.9 degree Celsius.??
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for majority of the places in western Rajasthan and some parts of Eastern Rajasthan for the next five days.?

Jodhpur recorded a temperature of 45.6 degrees Celsius, Barmer recorded 44.5 degrees Celsius while Rajasthan's capital Jaipur also witnessed intense heat-wave and recorded a temperature of 45.2 degrees Celsius.
Last time, Churu recorded the maximum temperature exceeding 50 degree Celsius on May 19, 2016. "Saturday¡¯s maximum temperature of Churu was highest temperature ever registered by Jaipur Met office in any station,¡± said Shiv Ganesh, director, Jaipur Met office.

IMD has issued a 'red-colour' warning for northwest central India. The IMD has four colour-coded messages - green, yellow, amber and red. Green indicates normal conditions while red denotes extreme weather situations.
