While human beings are locked indoors without any option, animals are using this time to their advantage. Several incidents of animals gracing us with their presence have been doing rounds on the Internet.
From a rhinoceros walking down in the streets of Nepal?to a leopard appearing in Chandigarh, wild animals are definitely finding this lockdown a little different than what they are used to. Recently, in Navi Mumbai, flamingos put on quite a show for the residents of Seawoods.?
A Seawood resident named, Sunil Agarwal, shot the video and wrote, 'With the full moon comes higher high tide which brings in more water and which attracts even more #Flamingos. The Talawe Wetlands & TS Chanakya Wetlands are part of this intertidal zone and not some man made water body. Please ask CIDCO & Urban development department to declare this area as Flamingo Sanctuary at the earliest as was discussed by us in January 2020 meeting'.
He finished his caption by addressing the fact that the water body needs to be declared a flamingo sanctuary. This is a clear example of how the absence of humans makes it much easier for birds and animals to be in their natural element.?
However, we cannot deny the fact that there are plenty animals like stray cats and dogs who depend on us to survive.?It is, after all, a grey area.
Let's hope that this area in Navi Mumbai is actually declared a sanctuary for flamingos, so that they can be comfortable even when humans are out and about.?
