Leopards are known to be fast and agile when it comes to catching their prey. And a video recently shared by Indian Forest Services officer, Susanta Nanda, on Twitter, proves the same.?
A leopard?is seen chasing a monkey, who is trying to get away from it.
In the video the monkey can be seen climbing a Tamboti tree in order to escape; after they both reach the tree top, the monkey starts to climb down but the leopard makes an effortless backflip mid-air to catch it.?
The video was filmed by Stephanie McConnell at the Londolozi Game Reserve in South Africa, and was first shared online in December last year. However it is going viral again.?
The video was shared by the IFS with the caption, ¡®Leopard does an incredible backflip to catch its prey. Simply out of the world jump. Generally leopard pounces upon its prey bring it down with a bite to the neck. Here to get a grip on preys neck, leopard does this near impossible jump¡¯.
Obviously the video left many social media users, gaping. One person commented, ¡®Simply insane. Catching monkey and that too on a tree. Most skilled big cat¡¯ while another one wrote, ¡®Astonishing! Nature never fails to surprise¡¯. Here are a few other reactions to the video.?
The leopard did beat the monkey in its area of expertise - jumping and climbing trees.?
