The most-awaited second trailer of GTA 6, a.k.a. Grand Theft Auto VI, has finally been launched by Rockstar Games after months of maintaining silence over any update.
Amid this, a new thread on Reddit has garnered the massive attention of users on the platform, which claims that an ex-Rockstar developer has confirmed that GTA 6 started its development in 2018.
The former Rockstar Games 3d environment artist who worked on Grand Theft Auto 6 has confirmed it's been in development since at least 2018 while reacting to the game's second trailer.
Since when Rockstar has been working on the game was also a question in fans' minds, but it seems all the rumours and speculations are clear now.
If we look around at the theories and delirium about when we might finally receive a second trailer for the game, we'll have to agree that how wrong it was all, and it is way bigger than it may look.
Additionally, a Twitter user pointed out that former Rockstar North environment artist David O'Reilly, whose YouTube name is 'Game World Art', was on the project up until 2023. He also noted that the development started "after we wrapped up on RDR2", reported The Gamer.
"I worked on GTA 6 from 2018 to 2023. Went onto it after we wrapped up on RDR2. It's fascinating having a look at all this stuff. - David O'Reilly," he quoted.
As soon as this update surfaced on Reddit, fans quickly started discussing it. One wrote, "People like to fantasise that the game has been in development since 2013. Yes, the concepts and writing, but full-scale actual development would've started around the time RDR2 was coming out."
