Amid the ongoing speculations and rumours circulating around the release date of the most awaited game of the era, Grand Theft Auto VI, a.k.a. GTA 6, Rockstar Games have finally opened up about the delay of the game and the second trailer release information.
Well, Rockstar's parent company, Take-Two Interactive's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, during a recent interview with Wall Street Week, posted on Bloomberg, finally gives players a window as to when the game is going to arrive. He revealed that it sounds like the game will be available before its fall release, but fans need to relax a bit more.
Later in the interview, Zelnick opened up about this topic to discuss the company's marketing strategy, where he said that they want to keep the excitement and anticipation going.
He adds, "We do have competitors who will describe their release schedule for years in advance. And we found that the better thing to do is to provide marketing materials relatively close to the release window in order to create that excitement on the one hand and balance the excitement with unmet anticipation."
According to him, it is not always the case, and that's what they are trying to do.
Zelnick goes on to mention that he has been in the entertainment industry for a long now, but the anticipation for GTA 6 was 'the greatest' he has ever seen so far.
On the other hand, fans seem to be disappointed with the marketing strategy of Rockstar Games, as Take-Two has confirmed a few times that GTA 6 is still on the Fall 2025 release.
As soon as the interview started circulating online, fans couldn't keep calm. Amid this, a Reddit thread is now going viral, captioned, "The whole ¡°they wouldn¡¯t market the game cause it¡¯s GTA 6¡± argument is dumb."
One user said, "Rockstar loves money, marketing is a must."
"Honestly I¡¯d be super disappointed if they just shadow dropped the game. I don¡¯t know why everyone thinks that¡¯d be a cool thing to do. I¡¯d have loved to been a part of the hype train for GTA 5 and RDR2. I¡¯m enjoying this anticipation now because after VI comes out, it¡¯ll be another 4-5 years till we get excitement like this again"
"People still talk about the giant GTA 5 murals and posters and stuff. Peole still talk about GTA San Andreas Welcome to the jungle trailer. It all ads to the experience and ultimately to how people view and feel about and vibe with the product."
