Once you become a parent, you remain a parent for life and nothing proves this saying more than the following viral video. In the clip, a woman goes after her son's attackers with stones after they tried to injure him with a sword. CCTV footage of the incident shows how she bravely stood up for her son and didn't think twice about her own life or her age for that matter.
Once parents age, it's easy for most to assume they'll take on more passive roles while the children transition to the roles of caregivers and protectors. But this video will make you rethink that little bit. CCTV footage of the incident that took place on August 18 in the Jaysingpur area in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, shows an elderly woman and a man on a scooter were seen talking. A few seconds into the clip, a man along with two others enters the frame brandishing a sword. He swings and aims at the back of the man on the scooter but misses. Meanwhile, the woman in the saree, now alert, picks up a rock and bravely stands her ground chasing the perpetrators away. Turns out the man on the scooter was her son who is on the ground by now. By the end of the clip, he gets up and joins her too, stone in hand.?
What's interesting is not what transpired, rather it's the woman's 'mother's instinct' that kicked in in seconds and had her on her feet and in action protecting her child. It makes you pause and wonder how often we take nature's gifts for granted, a mother's instinct is one.
According to NDTV, the three attackers have been identified by police and a case registered against them. Police later revealed that the episode was the result of a fight the two had had earlier, the man had gotten in a fight with the accused earlier, which triggered the attack. The man's father was out of town when the incident.
In another unrelated incident highlighting the lengths to which mothers can go, comes the case of a young mom with a six-year-old son.
Little Oscar Stuebe from Florida, the U.S., was hit by a ball during a game of baseball that sent him into cardiac arrest and he collapsed on the ground. His mother Sarah jumped into action and immediately rushed to give him CPR, which she continued to administer for two whole minutes while the thought dawned on her that she was giving her own child CPR."I definitely went into nurse mode... he went lifeless. CPR just kicked in. I did it for two minutes and realised, this is my son. I was falling apart," Sarah told today.com.
