After pro-Khalistani vandals marched to the Indian High Commission (IHC) in London and took down the Indian flag, Indians who wanted to show their support for their native country gathered outside and launched a celebration in the name of India.
People were seen dancing to AR Rehman¡¯s 2008 hit ¡®Jai Ho¡¯ and waving the tricolour in the air while they shouted their support for their country. However, the highlight of the dance break was when a British cop joined the group of supporters and shook a leg to the Hindi song.
The cop was likely asked by one of the people part of the dancing crew to join the merriment, a request he did not decline. People instantly started hooting and cheering on the policeman for his spirit.?
People online gave mixed reactions to the policeman dropping it to desi beats. One user was upset with the Indians who started the flash mob and wrote, ¡°What is this naach gaana nautanki. The issue must not be trivialised.¡±
While one did not agree and wanted to people to support the initiative, ¡°Really we indians have to appreciate this.¡±
Another admired the initiative and the London cop¡¯s assimilation into the crowd, ¡°So cute, this is love, relationship, celebration and soft power.¡±
One user felt that the action was flawed, ¡°People are protesting and raising their voice I can understand. But I hope the police are going to do more than just dancing.¡±
One fellow was not really happy with the cop¡¯s behaviour, ¡°British police always ready to shake a leg but diffident when they have to catch the thugs.¡±
¡°Naatu Naatu karao inse,¡± one joked.
One Twitter user simply reacted to the viral clip with a meme.
