Buzz Aldrin married his longtime girlfriend Dr Anca Faur on his 93rd birthday.?
The former astronaut was one of three Americans who walked on the moon during the iconic Apollo 11 mission in 1969. While Neil Armstrong was the first to set foot on the moon, Aldrin was close behind.?
Aldrin also posted a picture of himself and Faur in wedding clothes.?The former astronaut also received several birthday greetings, as well as a few 'over the moon' jokes.?
¡°On my 93rd birthday & the day I will also be honored by Living Legends of Aviation I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur & I have tied the knot. We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles & are as excited as eloping teenagers," Aldrin wrote on Twitter.
Congratulations and well wishes came in for the couple. A man wrote, "Many happy returns, Buzz and Anca! Wishing you both every happiness."
News host?Tom Harrington wrote, "You must be over the moon! But seriously Sir, congratulations to you both."
Another man wrote, "Happy birthday, Buzz, and congratulations on your marriage. I¡¯m thrilled for you. As always, you did it in style."
Aldrin's first words on the moon, according to archives, were "Beautiful view." "Isn't that something?" Armstrong asked. "Magnificent sight out here," Buzz said, and added, "Magnificent desolation."?
Before their spacewalk, Aldrin celebrated Holy Communion on the lunar surface, becoming the first and only man in human history to do so. The extremely pious man poured wine on the lunar surface, wine he had sneaked in.?
