Devotees in Nagpur went all out and assembled a ¡°mahabhog¡± for Lord Ganesha at Nagpur¡¯s Ganesh Mandir Tekadi.?The remarkable 1101 Kg laddu offering came just in time as the ten-day-long festival of Ganesh Chaturthi comes to a close on September 28.
On this day, devotees bid adieu to their beloved elephant god on the day of?Ganesh Visarjan,?which is also known as Anant Chaturdashi.?
The video going viral on the internet was shared a day prior to the Visarjan as a Hindi daily organised a Ganesh Utsav at the temple. The mounting dessert was prepared by 22 experts who assembled the large globe on the spot.?
The clip documents the whole process of assembling the five-foot-tall?motichoor laddu. The experts used a metal mould to keep the sweet orange raw material for the laddu in place. The?motichoor was packed inside the mould until it was filled to the brim.
Once the laddu was ready, the mould was removed, and decorations were added to the 1101 kg masterpiece. Experts working on the bhog used dry fruits and 24-carat gold foil to decorate the laddu. Afterward, the words ¡®Shri Ganeshaya Namah¡¯ were also drawn on the laddu with food colouring. Along with the chant, a Swastik was also drawn to the offering.
Rituals were performed at the temple once the ¡°mahabhog¡± was ready. After worshipping the elephant god, people were fed the 1101 kg laddu. Folks on the internet were extremely impressed by the efforts of the devotees who worked on the laddu.
In the post that shared the making of the mahabhog, user Doyash Pathrabe shared that a total of ¡°320 kg of chana besan, 320 kg of Desi ghee, 400 kg of sugar, 61 kg of sukha mewa, gulab jal, and dry fruits¡± were used to make the humongous dessert offering.??

At the beginning of the month, devotees invited Lord Ganesha into their homes, with the auspicious festival of Ganesh Chaturthi kicking off on September 19. This invitation is prolonged with a 10-day celebration in devoted homes as numerous offerings are presented to the elephant god until the onset of Anant Chaturdashi on September 28.?
