Amid the criticism over charging $8 to Twitter users for blue tick, Elon Musk has changed his Twitter profile bio from "Chief Twit" to "Twitter Complaint Hotline Operator."
The change comes amid a growing clamour from many users who have not taken keenly to Musk charging them for their blue ticks.?
Musk has also changed his profile picture to match his new Twitter bio. The new profile picture is an old picture of him from his childhood, in which he can be seen sitting with an old telephone.??
Since his takeover of?Twitter, Musk has gotten straight to business and sacked all the top executives, including the CEO, Parag Agrawal.?
Musk's radical decisions of charging users for blue ticks and the uncertain advertising climate have seen him facing heat from all corners.?
While he has been advocating for free speech, it appears he isn't practising what he is preaching. On Friday, Musk blocked Lou Paskalis, a top marketer who questioned the platform¡¯s retreat from content moderation.
¡°Elon, Great chat yesterday. As you heard overwhelmingly from senior advertisers on the call, the issue concerning us all is content moderation and its impact on BRAND SAFETY/SUITABILITY. You say you¡¯re committed to moderation, but you just laid off 75% of the moderation team!¡±?MMA Global president Lou Paskalis?tweeted?on Friday before the new Twitter boss blocked his account.?
Though some criticised Paskalis for his tweet, Musk took a different approach by blocking him on the app.
¡°So for all the replies I received that content moderation = denial of freedom of speech (it doesn¡¯t),what do you say about the fact that the ¡°chief twit¡± just blocked me for exercising mine?¡± Paskalis?tweeted?Friday.?
It, though, appears Elon Musk has since unblocked Lou Paskalis.?
