All of us have either bullied someone or got bullied?growing up. Unfortunately, even as adults, some of us still continue to live in the same abusive loop of getting ragged. Some of us continue to wonder, why doesn't anyone do anything to fix this problem.
Getting bullied can take a heavy toll on a child's mental well-being. So much so, bullying has become one of the top reasons for children and young adults giving up on life and committing suicide. It is the sad reality of this world and with each passing day, another life is lost because of people who harass others.
A video has surfaced on the Internet where a nine-year-old boy named Quaden is being recorded by his mother after getting bullied at school. The young child suffers from achondroplasia which is the most common type of dwarfism.
In the distressing video, the child can be heard saying that he wants to 'kill' himself and "give me a rope." For a boy as young as him, the complicated thought of wanting to take his own life is simply heartbreaking.
As soon as the video went viral on the Internet, the child's mother was flooded with kind messages and gestures from people all over the world. No stone was left unturned by people in order to make the child feel that his life is worth so much.
Comedian Brad Williams, who himself suffers from dwarfism set up a GoFundMe page for the child and his mother, who reside in Brisbane, Australia, so that they could visit Disneyland in the US. According to Daily Mail, he has managed to raise more than $200,000 dollars so that the mother-son duo could travel to America.?
"I'm setting up this GoFundMe to let Quaden know that bullying will not be tolerated and that he is a wonderful human being who deserves joy," Williams told Daily Mail.
Other than Williams, Wolverine actor, Hugh Jackman also offered kind words to the child.
"Quaden you are stronger than you know, mate. And no matter what, you have a friend in me," the actor was quoted as saying.
Quaden's mother, Yarraka also said she normally prefers to keep such episodes private but this was the last straw:?"We try to be as strong as positive as possible and only share the highlights... but this is how bullying affects a nine-year-old kid."
Bullying will be the end of happy childhoods and before making sure your child is educated at school, make sure you educate them at home.
