The practice of tasting new foods seems to be becoming more popular worldwide. By sharing videos of their responses to new meals, social media influencers and food bloggers appear to be driving this trend.?
It is not surprising that Indian cuisine is a hot topic among producers of online entertainment. In various films, foreigners who are experiencing Indian food for the first time express their appreciation for it. And desis have consistently praised their effort. However, one influencer's attempt failed because Indian internet users did not like her reply video.
A video of influencer Kelsie Flaim from New York City, who had some Indian food for the first time and described it as "a life-changing event" was reposted on Twitter. User Wahlid Mohammad submitted the popular video to Twitter. The influencer is shown holding bowls of some well-known Indian takeout food. She initially tastes the popular dish of butter chicken with naan and declares it to be "very creamy" and flavourful.
After trying butter chicken, she moves on to the top Indian street snack: samosa. The influencer, after trying samosa, said, "Not sure what's in the middle, but it's a little spicy."?So we give it to her and agree. But what makes us adore samosa even more is how spicy it is.?
The influencer picked mutton biryani next to try. She commended the meat for being flavourful and tender. She also said, "Mutton biryani has a very foreign taste and I love it."??
The influencer received criticism from Indians, despite her positive ratings of the Indian dishes, since she made a few mistakes in the video. She ate the butter chicken cold, as Twitter users noted.??
One user said, "Her saying "very foreign taste" as a description is killing me."
Another said, "I damn near jumped after her first bite."
The third fellow said, "I can fix her but I don¡¯t want to because there is no excuse for eating cold butter chicken. Another fellow criticised her eating it cold and said, "Eating it cold is the wildest thing I've ever seen."
?One even added, "What the "very foreign taste"??
Let's face it: Indian cuisine is centred around butter chicken, biryani, and Desi samosa, and whoever messes with it will get it back badly. All three dishes that the influencer tried are well-known not just in India but throughout the world.??
