Animal abuse is a sad reality of the world where human beings inflict torture on voiceless beings for absolutely no reason. Recently, members of People for Animal Welfare Services (PAWS) reportedly rescued a dog who was tortured by unidentified people in Thrissur, Kerala.?
According to a Times Now report, the dog was surviving without food or water for the last two weeks. The Thrissur officer of PAWS received calls with regard to the dog being subjected to brutality and after repeated phone calls, the animal welfare organisation searched for the dog and discovered him in Ollur junction, Thrissur. The canine was rescued and admitted to a hospital.?
The dog's condition was unimaginable as he several layers of tape were wound around its mouth. Reportedly,?Ramachandran, secretary of PAWS, Thrissur said that initially they thought it was a single layer of duct tape but were shocked to find out that that were several of them.?
The tape was reportedly so tight that the dog's face was pierced into the skin and the bones around its nose were visible. When the tape was removed, the dog drank two litres of water.?
Ramachandran reportedly claimed that the dog could be a pet given that it was wearing a collar, and how at this stage it wasn't clear exactly who could've done this. Reports add that it was a challenge to locate the dog as?he was scared and hiding.
PAWS seems to believe that the dog must have got lost after which it was caught and tortured. The secretary also added that the dog managed to survive as canines can live without food for a few days. However, it goes without saying no living being should ever be subjected to any kind of torture.?
The dog was admitted to the hospital and given antibiotics to start his treatment. He is believed to be in stable condition now.?
Whoever inflicted torture on the innocent soul deserves to be punished for their wrongdoings without mercy.
