A "crying room" has been installed at a movie theatre complex in Kerala administered by the government. This room is designed for parents to take their children who get distressed while in the theatre.?
On Monday, Kerala Cultural Affairs Minister VN Vasavan shared photos of the room set up at the Kairali-Sree-Nila theatre complex in the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram.
According to what the minister had to say, arrangements have been made for parents and other caregivers to watch the film in this room comfortably, without any interruption.
"It is very rare for parents who come to the theatre with their children to enjoy the movie. The children get upset and have to leave the theatre without matching the darkness, sound, and light in the theatre."
He added, "If the baby cries while watching the movie, there is no need to leave the theatre. KSFDC Thiruvananthapuram Kairali Theater Complex has set up a cry room at Kairali Theatre Complex to transform government theatres into women and child-friendly theatres."
According to him, this project is a part of the government's attempts to make theatres owned by the government more welcoming to women and children.
