Peter Smith, a 70-year-old man, was rushed into theatre after suffering a heart attack - but while he was undergoing surgery, wife Winnie decided to try her luck with a bet.?
When he woke-up from life-saving surgery, he had found out that his fortunes had changed forever. No, we're not referring to a steep hospital bill.
Peter's fortunes increased overnight as his wife had won Rs 24 lakh from a bet worth Rs 50.?The retired carpenter said it did him "a lot of good" to hear their luck had turned as he lay recovering in a hospital bed.

The couple, who have two children and three grandchildren, are now planning a dream holiday for a big wedding anniversary next year when coronavirus restrictions ease.
The wife, Winnie, had placed a 50p bet and all the numbers she picked turned out to be lucky, reported Lad Bible. She won the prize at a local betting center after her numbers - 2,8,9, 13, 14,32 -? were all drawn in the 49's numbers game.
"I put the bet on like usual for the Saturday draw on Friday and then in the early hours of Saturday Peter had his heart attack," said Winnie.

Winne said she couldn't visit Peter at the hospital due to the COVID-19 restrictions. But after she had won a grand prize, she decided to cheer him up with the news that they were ?25,000 richer.
"It all happened in a few hours. I was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance in the early hours and had my operation almost straight away. Then Winnie was on the phone as I was coming round five hours later to see how it had gone when she told me the amazing news. It did me a lot of good," said Peter.?

?The couple's 50th anniversary is next year and they are planning to celebrate it with a luxury cruise to the Caribbean or the Maldives.?
"It was the best news we could have had. We've got more money now for our new conservatory at home and enough to pay for the very best big holiday next year when it is our golden wedding anniversary,Ąą said Winnie.
