Kishwar Chowdhary is bringing Bengali cuisine to the global dining table. Using her mother's recipes as inspiration, the 38-year-old chef is impressing the judges left, right and centre.?
Recently, she has gone viral on social media for making a simple Bengali dish called 'Macher Jhol' - it is a fish curry made with fried fish in a soup-like gravy made with veggies and served with rice.?
Chowdhary's dish included Barramundi fish in a tomato curry with a Bean and Chingri Bhorta (mashed beans and prawns) and Jeera Rice.?
"This dish takes me straight into the heart of Chandichowk in Dhaka," she wrote on her Instagram handle.?
Dhaka Tribune?quoted Kishwar, saying, ¡°The Bengali cuisine that I carry with me has been passed down from generation to generation. I¡¯ve always taken a little creative license with it."
Chowdhary wants to place Bangladeshi's cuisine on the world map and her passion for it is definitely making it look like she will succeed with her plan.?
