During a time in our country when stories of communal violence aren't uncommon, this incident from Uttar Pradesh restores our faith in humanity. A video of Hindus and Muslims breaking fast together during Ramadan at Barabanki jail has gone viral.
The video was shared by News24 TV channel on Twitter with the caption, "UP: Unique example of unity seen in Barabanki jail, Hindus also fasted along with Muslim prisoners. Iftar was done by the jail administration to all the fasting."
The video has amassed 1.61 lakh views on the microblogging website, along with 14,000 likes, and over 2,500 retweets.?
People took to the comments section to express how much they appreciate this harmony among different religions.?"Strength of unity," wrote one user.?"Now these days jail is the symbol of Peace," commented another user.?"It seems in these bleak times there is more humanity left in a prison than outside!" said a third user.
In a similar incident, a Muslim group in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal welcomed a Hanuman "shobha yatra" with flower petals.?
A video of the incident was shared by ANI which showed flower petals being showered on the approaching Hanuman Jayanti rally, with the Hindu devotees bringing in a big Hanuman idol.?
Another incident of communal harmony was?from Aurangabad where a procession was carried out to celebrate Ram Navami - Hindus were celebrating the auspicious day when they crossed a mosque.?In a video shared on Twitter by Bilal Jaleel, a man was heard announcing that the DJ will be paused for about two minutes because the group was crossing a mosque.
The man had announced,?"We are turning the DJ off for 2 minutes. After we are done crossing the mosque, the DJ will continue to play. All of us have our respective religious sentiments. So, to respect all religions, we will play the DJ after crossing the mosque."
