In November, an IT professional from Noida was in the news for physically abusing his Labrador puppy. Videos of the same were posted on social media and now, people are seeking justice for the dog and want the man's employers to fire him.?
Rishabh Mehra thrashed his 10-month-old puppy with a belt and then banged him against the floor of the house.?
The incident was captured on camera by a volunteer from People for Animals (PFA).?
The dog, named Buddy, suffered injuries all over his body and a fracture in his femur. The video was posted on Twitter, which soon went viral. BJP leader and PFA founder Maneka Gandhi, was involved in the matter,= and according to a Times of India?report, an FIR was also lodged against Mehra.
On December 5, Gandhi took to Twitter to share that Mehra had still not been arrested and that he was on the run. She also added that he worked with Cognizant and should face consequences for his actions.?
She shared a Change.org petition which was started by the volunteer named Sukriti, who had recorded the video.?The title reads, 'Justice for Buddy'. The petition also refers to Mehra's wife, Ayushi, who was also present at the time of the brutality and reportedly did not stop her husband.
#JusticeforBuddy has been trending on Twitter for the last few days. Social media users are demanding that Cognizant fire Mehra for abusing Buddy.?
Animal abuse needs stricter laws in our country. There are way too many animals like Buddy who meet a grim fate because humans do not find it in their heart to be kinder.
