Flights can be pretty exhausting and for some, can be a little frightening. From missing flights or luggage to long delays and beyond, there are a lot of factors that may go wrong.
Contracting food poisoning mid-air may be one fear you didn¡¯t even know you had.?However, in order to prevent something like this from happening and the pilots from being affected, there is an important unwritten rule by aviation authorities in place.
A TikToker by the handle pilot_geeza confirmed that pilots and co-pilots don¡¯t eat the same meals when they are up in the air. This is done to prevent both getting sick in the event of food poisoning.
He received a comment asking: ¡°Is it true that both pilots aren¡¯t allowed to eat the same meal in case they both get poorly mid-air?¡±The pilot, real name Harrison Murray, confirmed this fact. He said, ¡°That is absolutely correct. We always get two different meals.¡±
In-flight meals offered to the pilots may include anything from full gourmet dinners to sandwiches. Murray usually opts to skip the big meals, though. ¡°I tend to only eat the sandwiches,¡± he said.
This isn¡¯t in case he¡¯ll get food poisoning. He simply doesn¡¯t like the taste of them. ¡°It¡¯s a bit not lovely,¡± Murray said.
Well, this makes complete sense. Doesn't it??
