Every 90s kid loves? The Jungle Book?and of course?Mowgli.?But did you know, that a real-life Mowgli exists??
Zanziman Ellie, known as?'real-life Mowgli', who?was shunned by his community and?spent years of his life in the jungle now wears a suit every day and attends a local school, Daily Star reported.?
Ellie fled his home in Rwanda to live in the jungle, and his story became well-known after a documentary about his life was aired on YouTube by Afrimax TV in February last year.
Born in 1999, he was almost immediately shunned by his community because of his physical appearance, which is affected by his condition, microcephaly, where a baby is born with its head much smaller than normal.
He was also denied access to education on the basis that he did not have the mental capacity to concentrate in class.
But now, reports suggest donations have allowed him to go to a special needs school.
Following the documentary, Afrimax TV set up a GoFundMe page where donations flooded in from viewers around the world hoping to help Ellie and his mother build a better life.
The news site Atinkanews reports that the donations have been used to send Ellie to a school for children with special needs at the Ubumwe Community Center, Gisenyi, Rwanda.
