You cannot make best friends

Friendship is one of the first relationships that we make, usually at school. We always stand with our best friends during their good time and bad. But that's not allowed in Thomas¡¯s school in the UK. In fact, students are banned from making best friends! According to the school, they hope that they will protect children from the trauma of having breakups with close friends. Teachers not allowed to use red pen

At an academy in the U.K. county of Cornwall stating that the red ink was a very negative colour, UK teachers are forbidden to use it to grade or make corrections on students papers and use a green colour instead. To encourage and motivate children, teachers write some positive comments on submitted work. "Switching to the new marking system is certainly not about us going all soft and fuzzy" vice-principal Jennie Hick told the paper, reported Daily Mail.

Noon naps in Chinese school

A Gaoxin No. 1 Elementary School in China allows students to take noon naps during lunch time between 12:10 to 2 pm. One of the teachers said, ¡°Children having a noon nap on the desks have the parents¡¯ support.¡± Gao explained that since lunch time is at 12:10 pm, and classes begin at 2:00 pm, there is not enough time for parents to pick up and take their children home to rest. ¡°Whereas resting on the desks can ensure that the children will feel more fresh in the afternoon.¡±

Gao added that Gaxin No. 1 Elementary School has been having noon naps like this ever since the school opened, no matter what season of the year it is, and never has there been a situation where a child has fallen off a desk. ¡°We have strict rules, while kids are taking a nap, there is always a teacher there watching them.¡±

¡°If the parents are able to pick up and drop off their child, they can also apply to the school to take their kids back home to rest at noon.¡± she said.

Ban on relationships

Nowadays, dating someone is common among girls and boys and, apparently, that's a distract from their studies. Taking this matter on a serious note, many Japanese academies strictly imposed a ban on relationships so that pupils can concentrate on their education.

Good Appearance Not Allowed

Everyone wants to look good nowadays but is that possible without cosmetics? Some schools in Japan students are not allowed to flaunt makeup, painted nails and shaved legs. The authorities want students to focus on their studies instead of looking good.

No high fives and hugs

It's normal when we are sitting in a group and someone throws amazing jokes or when as a team we win on something we do high fives and hugs or we meet friends after long vacations we give hugs to each other. But in England and the United States, some schools imposed strict ban on these physical contacts. They think it interferes with the students¡¯ academic experience. Many parents were not in favour of this rule.

Students allowed to use washroom only three times per semester

What would be the first reaction if you were asked to study in a school where students are only allowed to use the bathroom only three times during the class per semester. Of course, you will say nooooo! But there is Evergreen Park High School in Chicago that imposed this rule on it's students in 2011 to make sure students don't miss valuable class time.

According to one student, one of her classmates facing the problem, "She had to go to the bathroom twice, and then the teacher gave her a real big deal about it. And it was something that was blown out of proportion and she got escorted by the security," said student Sam B

But EPHS Principal Bill Sanderson told NBC Chicago that the policy aims to deter students from using restroom visits as an excuse to miss class and ensure that students who may miss valuable class time during a bathroom break have a built-in provision to make up the work.

A curtain divider between male and female students

Recently this picture went viral on the internet where Male and female students attend class under new classroom conditions at Avicenna University in Kabul, Afghanistan, divided in the middle by a curtain. That means girls and boys can not sit together in school and college premises.
