Dressed as Bhagat Singh in bright yellow turbans and spotlesswhite kurta-pyjamas, street-play actors from Punjab on Tuesdayarrived at the Singhu border to extend their support to farmers protestingagainst the new farm laws.
The actors, who perform nukkad nataks to espouse variouscauses, have been visiting different spots where farmers have been protestingfor nearly two weeks now.

Speaking to IANS, Kamal Dhillon, a member of the MaaKamalDhillon, a member of the Maa Bagowali cultural group, said: "Till the timethese new farm laws are repealed, we will not go back from here."
"We are performing street plays at protest sites andeven Punjab villages to mock these draconian laws and the central government.We are wearing yellow turbans and white kurta-pyjamas just like our idol BhagatSingh, who freed India from the British rule," he said.
The protest by the farmers of Haryana and Punjab meanwhilecontinued for the thirteenth day on Tuesday on Delhi-Haryana's Singhu border.
The farmers are protesting against The Farmers (Empowermentand Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020; TheFarmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; andThe Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act 2020.

The farmers claim that the new farm laws would pave the wayfor the dismantling of the minimum support price system, leaving them at themercy of big corporates.
In the wake of the 'Bharat Bandh', the Delhi Police onTuesday intensified its vigil at various entry points into the nationalcapital.
Barricades were put up at multiple points tomonitor the entry of vehicles and people in the national capital. There is aspecial focus on vehicles with Punjab and Haryana registration numbers.

The Delhi Police along with paramilitary forces were seendeployed at various checkposts even while senior police officers supervised thesecurity arrangements.
The city police force has already made it clear that nodisruptions on roads or forcible stopping of vehicles would be allowed.
