A terrifying video of a python biting a zookeeper's face has gone viral on social media. The video, shared on Instagram, showed Jay Brewer, founder of The Reptile Zoo? near Los Angeles, getting bit by a python and leaving him with a blood-stained cheek.?
Brewer often posts videos of animals he takes care of on Instagram.?
The latest video shows him attempting to retrieve some eggs belonging to a particularly large python so that experts could help them hatch.?
"She GOT ME. I take a risk so I can get the babies in the incubator where it's safe... in this case I had to take one for the team," he captioned the video.
Brewer approaches the snake using a hooked pole to control her. He says,?"Come on girl. You're like, 'Hey, I finally lay some eggs and you're gonna take 'em from me?' Yes, because we want them to hatch, because they won't hatch otherwise. Come on girl, come on girl."
He carefully lifts the eggs up with his hands but since some of them are stuck together in a clump, Brewer puts down his stick to free his other hand to pick up the eggs.?
However, what follows is the mama python's disapproval who attacks Brewer in order to protect her babies. He gets caught by surprise and quickly moves back and says.?"Ohhhh, I got it right in the face! I knew this was gonna be in the video."
The video has more than 1.5 million views.?
