Classic memes are frequently produced by Pakistani TV shows and remain in our social media feeds for months at a time. The Pakistani TV programme "Living on the Edge," also known as "Pakistani Roadies" in India, was one of many that inspired numerous memes.
The reality TV programme, as its name implies, was a Pakistani adaptation of the Indian programme Roadies, where contestants had to pass a round of auditions in order to participate. These auditions can be quite painful and embarrassing, but the videos can produce some memorable memes.?
The "Meri selection ho gyi hai" is one such meme that gained popularity and is still widely shared on social media. In recent news, the man in the video is now working as a valet, and the internet is not happy about it.
The man who goes by the name of Abdul Waheed applied for the reality programme 11 years ago, and he quickly rose to fame, almost overnight.
Everyone was in stitches at his funny response to being chosen for the show, and the meme is still used as a model to create many present-day memes. Sadly, the man who made countless people around the world smile is now employed in Pakistan as a parking valet.
It is really hard to believe he is the same man from the viral video, given his beard and white hair on his head. For those who forgot, here is the popular meme.
Recently, the Pakistani YouTube channel Dialogue Pakistan discovered Abdul Waheed. He told them during their talk that he had been a valet in Karachi's Sharae Faisal neighbourhood for more than ten years.
Additionally, he discussed his difficulties and how, after the video became viral, people began to recognise him.
Many people on the internet were not happy about the viral man's condition and struggles. A man commented under the YouTube video and wrote, "Dialogue?pakistan?plz help this man. At least help him to get a good job which he deserves."
A man added, "A simple Sofed posh man appearing in reality show didn't know he wd becone a meme sensation, heart breaking to see him meeting his both ends financially. Kudos to when he says it doesn't matter for him whoever earns from his video. More power to you Abdul waheed bhai."
