A simple gesture of a woman taking off her slippers andalmost prostrating in front of the Indian tricolour has moved people online.
The short clip posted by IFS officer Sudha Ramen on Twitter was captioned, 'This is the best clip I had watched in recent times. That's how we revere our country. Respects'.
The CCTV footage shows a woman passing by an Indian flag hoisted on Independence Day; she promptly stops, takes off her slippers and bows before it.
The video soon went viral and sparked a conversation on Twitter where peopletouched upon everything from the beauty of Indian culture to how many havesimply forgotten the meaning of patriotism.
Many also pointed out that patriotism is not about loud celebrations, it's about showing your respects for the countless people who sacrificed their lives for the nation's Independence.?

One Twitter user?wrote, 'A thoughtful mind, when it sees a nation's flag, sees not theflag, but the nation itself'.

On August 15 this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the Red Fort on India's 74th Independence Day.?He said that it was a day to remember the sacrifice of the freedom fighters and show gratitude to the security personnel.
"My fellow Indians, we are breathing in a free India because of the sacrifices freedom fighters made. This is a day to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. This is also a day to show gratitude to the security personnel including that of Army, paramilitary and police ensuring our safety," PM Modi said.
This year, the event was not attended by the general public. It was witnessed by 1,500 corona warriors, including 500 police personnel who recovered from the COVID-19 infection.
