Every parent wants to ensure that their child is perfect. However, the Chinese have taken it a little too far which has led to a bizarre new trend. Parents in China are making their children wear head-shape correction products, like helmets, to make their child's heads round.
Apparently, people in China think that round heads are the most beautiful and are taking up extreme measures to make sure that their baby has a round head. Since babies have soft bones, parents are resorting to using head-shape correction products like helmets and pillows to mould their head into a round shape, South China Morning Post reported.
Parents are comparing making their babies wear helmets to braces, saying it has the same function since it corrects a body part. Parents are taking their babies for 'head correction' despite protests from other members of the family who are concerned about the baby's well-being.?
Needless to say, since capitalism feeds on the unnecessary needs of the people, Chinese companies are using this to their advantage and coming up with a range of 'head correcting' equipment like helmets, special mats, and pillows. The helmets are being sold for up to Rs 3 lakh, and cheaper versions are also available.?
The report suggests that most Chinese mothers are buying the equipment for their daughters since the world believes that women should look a certain way. However, with the acceptance of all body types finally making their way into society, this concept might get redundant. But knowing how obsessed the Chinese are with perfection, you never know!
