Liam Payne will be laid to rest this week. The former One Direction member died on October 16 in Argentina after allegedly falling in a state of semi or total unconsciousness from the balcony of his hotel room. A post-mortem report cited his cause of death as multiple trauma and internal and external?hemorrhage?as a result of the fatal fall.
Among those who are expected to attend Payne's funeral are his One Direction bandmates Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson along with a few other industry insiders; however, there's one person who has been banned from attending the service.
Liam Payne's alleged manager and friend Roger Nores will not be in attendance at his funeral. According to a report by The Sun, the Argentinian tycoon is not welcomed at the ceremony, slated to take place at Payne¡¯s home town of Wolverhampton, UK later this week.
The report claimed that Liam's family is not comfortable with Nores' attendance at his funeral due to his alleged connection with the singer's death. Notably, Nores is also being grilled by Argentinian authorities about the Night Changes?crooner's death case.?
A source told The Sun, ¡°Liam¡¯s family want his funeral to go off without a hitch and right now opinions are strained when it comes to Nores."?The tipster added that Nores, 31, was with Payne at the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires shortly before his tragic passing away.
¡°Many people didn¡¯t even know Liam and Roger had reconnected until his fateful trip to Argentina last month. Due to the ongoing investigation in Argentina, he¡¯s not welcome at this week¡¯s service," the insider claimed.
Nores was Liam's plus-one when he attended his fellow One Direction member Niall Horan's concert at the Movistar Arena days before his death. According to local media reports, he was arrested in connection with Payne's death along with a hotel staff member and a drug peddler.
As he was one of the few people who saw Liam before his death, Nores has been facing charges of abandonment. However, he has refuted the claims, saying?¡°I never abandoned Liam, I went to his hotel 3 times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened.
¡°I could have never imagined something like this would happen. I¡¯ve given my statement to the prosecutor on October 17 as a witness and I haven¡¯t spoken to any police officer or prosecutor ever since," he added.
Roger Nores is a famous name in the energy business sector. The 35-year-old reportedly met the former One Direction star in 2020 through his ex-girlfriend Maya. They quickly developed a tight-knit friendship but had a fallout in recent years. Sources have claimed that he was not a part of Payne's inner circle, but his Argentinian getaway with the Strip That Down singer suggests otherwise. Reportedly, Liam also visited his residence in Argentina with girlfriend Kate Cassidy.?
Some media reports have also claimed Nores was managing Liam's career, but the businessman has rubbished the claims. He said, "I wasn¡¯t Liam¡¯s manager; he was just my very dear friend."?However, emails obtained by The Sun show he was heading up Liam¡¯s career and resigned over a deal with Los Angeles-based talent agency CAA earlier this year.
Liam Payne's death case is currently being investigated by the officials in Argentina. More details on the case are awaited.
