JioStar Plan Rates: The mega-merger of Reliance Industries Limited, Viacom 18 Media Private Limited and The Walt Disney Company has finally given birth to JioStar, a joint entity live since November 14. With Nita Ambani as its Chairperson and Uday Shankar as Vice Chairperson, all streaming stations have started diverting their channels towards the JioStar platform at a rapid speed.
It was recently that the new venture¡¯s website published the fresh subscription rates of their various entertainment offerings divided into Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD). Their cheapest pack starts at just Rs 15 per month and caters to several languages including Hindi, Marathi, Odia, Bengali, Telugu, and Kannada.

For the uninitiated, Mukesh Ambani¡¯s Reliance Industries (RIL) has taken the majority stake and also the call to operate and consolidate the joint venture according to their will. RIL who owns a 16.34% stake in JioStar has promised to invest Rs 11,500 crore growth capital in the Joint Venture. Viacom 18 holds a 46.82% stake and Disney has 36.84% in JioStar.
