The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season was expected to showcase Yashasvi Jaiswal's rise, following a stellar 2023 and a decent 2024 edition. However, his underwhelming performances in Rajasthan Royals' (RR) first three matches have raised concerns.
Against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match 11 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, he managed just 4 runs off 3 balls. Prior to that, he scored 1(5) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and 29(24) against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).?
Soon after his dismissal, fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express their disappointment. More so as he was retained by RR ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction for??18 Crore. Many have stated that this huge sum of money has gone down the drain with such performance.
One fan wrote, "'This is the Yashasvi Jaiswal show'〞the show in question: 4 (3)."
Another commented, "Yashasvi Jaiswal, 18 crore fraud... He doesn＊t even deserve 8 crore."
One user wrote, "Three consecutive failures for Yashasvi Jaiswal... Struggling to score runs. He should focus on Tests and ODIs instead〞he＊s not needed in T20 and isn't capable of scoring big runs in the format."

Despite Jaiswal's early dismissal, RR quickly recovered as Sanju Samson and Nitish Rana built an 82-run partnership. While Rana smashed 61 off 26 balls, Samson, playing the supporting role, was dismissed for 20 off 16. After 8 overs, RR stands at 87 for the loss of 2 wickets.
