Comedian Samay Raina finally breaks his silence on the ongoing controversy about his show India's Got Latent, due to offensive remarks made by popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia.
Taking to his social media platforms, such as X (formerly called Twitter) and his Instagram story, Samay finally broke his silence over the social media outrage happening for the past two days. He wrote, whatever is happening is too much to handle for him, and he has removed all India's Got Latent videos from his channel.
"Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all Indias Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you."
India's Got Latent has been the major topic of discussion over the last two days across social media platforms and mainstream media. After the clips from one of the members-only episodes featuring vulgar language and offensive jokes went viral, there was major outrage noticed among people across the country.
However, multiple complaints and FIRs have been filed against the creators, including Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani.?
After Youtuber Ranveer Allahbadia, now Samay Raina has finally broke his silence over the matter, and mentioned that he has deleted all the episodes of the show from his YouTube channel. He also shared that his only intention was to make people laugh and have a good time.
However, he will cooperate with all the agencies to ensure their inquires are conducted fairly, he added in the post.
Currently, Samay is present in the United States, and his advocate has requested an extension for his police appearance, but the request was denied.
As soon as Samay shared the post on his X account, netizens quickly started sharing and commenting on it. Some users showed their anger while some of his fans stood by him as one wrote, "Your objective was to make people laugh and have a good time..gaaliya deke hasana is the comedy? What message you are giving in the society in the name of comedy?"
Another shared a positive comment and wrote, "I hope that our society can become a little more forgiving as we evolve."
While someone blamed it on his karma, saying, "You know man the worst is you making fun of people with disabilities. Karma got you man."
